Beginning school year 2017-2018, Fr. Pierre Tritz Institute – ERDA Tech is adopting the six-day cycle for its class schedule. This is composed of Day 1, Day 2, Day W (Wednesday, which has a fixed schedule of classes), Day 3, Day 4, and Day 5. The first day of classes, June 5, 2017 followed the Day 1 schedule, and so on. In case there will be a holiday or any other interruption of classes, the cycle will just continue with the next day on the line-up. This system prevents a particular day from being disadvantaged because of such interruptions. In the previous school years when the school observed the Monday to Friday schedule, the interruptions usually took its toll on the Monday and Friday classes. Thankfully, that problem is now a thing of the past. Another benefit of the cycle is that it makes possible an earlier dismissal time for the students (from 4:45 p.m. to 3:45 p.m.) which then allows more time for remedial classes, tutorial sessions, consultation meetings, practices and preparations for school events, and others. The implementation of the six-day cycle is yet another manifestation of the school’s firm commitment to become the best that it can be and to fulfill its vision and mission more effectively.

Beginning school year 2017-2018, Mr. Christian J. Bumatayo joins ERDA Tech as the Assistant for Academics. He is the successor of Mr. Ernesto R. Chua, Jr. who is currently on leave. Seconded by Xavier School San Juan, Mr. Bumatayo has been in the field of education ever since he graduated from the University of the Philippines in Diliman in 2001. At Xavier, he taught high school English for ten years, after which he became the chairperson of the department. He then moved on to the Campus Ministry before coming over to ERDA Tech.
Mr. Bumatayo is no stranger to ERDA Tech. In fact, during the early 2000s, he was part of the team of Xavier School students, faculty, and staff that regularly went to the said school to conduct tutorials of ERDAnians under the Para Kay Kiko program. Today, he comes full circle as he returns to ERDA Tech. Aside from supervising the academic subject teachers, he will also teach English for Academic and Professional Purposes (EAPP) to two grade 11 classes, St. Lorenzo Ruiz and St. Dominic Savio.
Very much a welcome addition to the ERDA Tech community, Mr. Bumatayo shall play a key role as the school becomes a stand-alone senior high school this school year. His extensive experience in education and formation, together with his wit, sense of humor, and compassionate heart will truly benefit his colleagues as well as the ERDAnians.
Maligayang pagdating sa ERDA Tech, Ginoong Bumatayo! You are indeed a man for others, a man on a mission.

ERDA Tech students are not only very good when it comes to technical-vocational skills, but also in expressing themselves through the written word. Last month, four students: Jannah Mae Beltran and Joyce Ann Busante of Grade 10 – Kapayapaan, as well as Maezel Ann Wood and Xian Juilliard Oquendo of Grade 10 – Kalayaan participated in a writing competition organized by the Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU). Miss Chyryz Valiente, Filipino teacher, accompanied the delegation. The said contest consisted of essay and poetry writing. These students who are the pride of ERDA Tech were acknowledged in the general assembly for their accomplishment and for the inspiration they gave to the school community, specially to their fellow students, to keep on being the best that they can be.
